The bridal gown is just one part of your wedding attire. For the headpiece
you may choose a hat or veil, or a combination.
For shoes most Brides choose a fabric (peau-de-soie) or leather shoe. Just
remember to "pre-wear" the shoes as much as possible before the
wedding to make them "broken in".
Don't forget bridal hosiery (usually white) and the blue garter.
The jewelry you choose should compliment and accent your gown.

you want.

FLORISTS
Begin visiting florists several months in advance to look through their
albums and inquire about prices. The flowers you choose should coordinate
with the color scheme of the wedding.
You will need to decide on flowers for the ceremony, for the reception,
and for attendants and family.
The flowers used at the church can usually be used at the reception also.
Ask your florist if the transportation from ceremony to reception is included
in the price. You may need additional flowers for the reception.
The bridal bouquet should coordinate with your gown, but the flowers do
not have to be all white. Lace, ribbons, or small flowers that follow the
wedding color scheme may be added.
The bridesmaids' bouquets are usually similar in style to the Bride's, but
smaller and more colorful.
The bouquet for the Maid of Honor may be slightly different from the others.
You may also opt for floral sprays in your bridesmaids' hair.
Boutonnieres for the men in the wedding should be small and simple.
Corsages for mothers and grandmothers should coordinate with the color of
their dresses.

GOWN RESTORATION & HEIRLOOMING
If you are considering wearing an heirloom gown (your mother's or grandmother's,
for instance), consult first with a gown restoration specialist. In most
cases the gown can be restored to its true color by removing the yellow
and brown discoloration (which is caused over the years by oxidation) and
other types of stains, even when a regular dry cleaning has had no effect.
Other repairs, such as fixing torn lace and replacing missing beads, can
also be done at this time.
Even if you are not wearing an heirloom gown, remember that your own wedding
gown may one day become an heirloom. After your wedding have it heirloomed
to prevent discoloration and stains from forming.
